  2. One Sophie is coming home to EastPhilly! Happy, happy me.

Undecided about the others at this point. I like them, but I have to think about the one face. Stacey McBride-Irby did a good job distinguishing them, I will say that.

  3. Thanks for this update, DBG!

  4. EbonyNicole - yes, it appears they all share the same face. I can't tell if Sophia is the same as the others.

D7ana - I agree, Stacey did a great job giving the doll's their own identities; you're welcome!

  5. Thanks for posting the images...I've been dying to see them. I agree with EbonyNicole30 though, they do all look the same. Very much like an altered S.I.S. Grace. I think I'd buy Lena though, and maybe Valencia. :)

  6. When you think about it, most playline dolls that contain more than one doll in the line (Bratz, Moxie Girls, Moxie Teens, Liv, Monster High, and I could go on) all share the same face mold. Their uniqueness is achieved with different wigs and facial screenings, and of course their fashions.

With reference to "same face" the Prettie Girls! OWP are in line with what everyone else is doing in the playline arena.

  7. Yes, most doll lines do use the same face so the OWP dolls are following basic doll standards. They seem to be distinct enough - and to be fair, it is a new series so I would allow time for them to establish ground in the doll market first. Then they might add additional face molds AND maybe even MALE dolls! (Whhooo hoo!)

Having individual faces for each character is one aspect I love/appreciate about the Mixis dolls and some action figure lines. However, YNU Group has not created additional dolls so I suppose that is not particularly cost effective. Sigh.

The OWP dolls will more than suffice for the yet-to-come Mixis dolls ;-)

  8. Yes, D7ana, with time we might just see new face molds and even wrist articulation. Not so sure about a male being added to a line called Prettie Girls! OWP, though, but I guess anything is possible.

  9. LOL! Great catch, DBG!

Guys in Prettie Girls ... okay and it wasn't even after 9 pm when I added that post.

Too late for coffee now. Maybe a good night's sleep?

  10. Maybe it's just me, but they look a bit angry.

I was excited for a hispanic doll, but Valencia looks more caucasian than hispanic...

  11. Hmmm... I don't see angry. But I do see serious.

I'll have to agree about the Hispanic doll's appearance. When I saw the images, I immediately thought she was white. I guess it's the hair color that threw me off. Maybe she'll look more Hispanic in person.

  12. Thanks for posting the pictures. I agree they have the same mold, but are quite distinguisable. Starting a new doll company and producing molds is VERY expensive. I am not surprised that there is only one mold. With our support of this line, and hopefully the supprt of many other people, they will be able to put out new face molds in time and perhaps start the "Handsome Boys" line.

I have a ton of Mbili face mold dolls, but they are so very different that I still love them, and will more than likely continue to buy them. Now that Desiree mold is a different story.

  13. The Handsome Boys line, how clever, Vanessa!

Yes, with the support of the doll-buying community, I'm sure the line will grow in members, different face molds, and perhaps some "handsome boys."

  14. Looks like a good start for a doll line, I'm personally very excited because we don't see very many ARTICULATED dark skinned fashion dolls at this price point. (Oh please, please, have articulated wrists). I like everything else I see so far. My 15 year old, who collects dolls as well is concerned with only two things, can she pose like a Fashionista, and can she share clothes with her other dolls. :)

  15. Hi MsPbody,

I don't think the wrists are articulated in this line. Hopefully that feature will be added in the future if they are not.

I guess we'll have to wait and see about the sharing clothes possibility, but I do know that separately sold clothing and other accessories are "planned" for the line. With Stacey McBride-Irby being the designer, I'm sure we won't be disappointed about the fashion designs.

It's great to hear of a 15-year-old who is still interested in dolls who also collects them!

    Kudos to you!

  16. Hispanics como in different colours and are a mixed of european, amererindian, african and sometimes asian. There are also lot of middle
easterns who inhabit latin america. Valencia looks just liike my cousin with black features, light skin, green eyes and blonde hair. Not all hispanics look like the stereotypical mexican. For example, look at Sofia Vergara from modern famiily, she is colombian and naturally blonde but on her contract it stipulates that she must dye her hair dark to avoid confusion or how about Alexis Bledel? I think she should add a native/aboriginal doll it will also look like some Hispanics. Just for the record, Spain is in Europe so they are white.
